The Bridal industry can be a very misunderstood area of retail. How many of your customers have said to you “You are so lucky. I’d love to work here/own a shop”? I certainly remember a lot of brides, MOB’s, MOG’s, and other guests saying that to me over the years. To be fair, it is, when seen from the the outside, such a glamorous business to be part of.
Behind the scenes though, aside from obvious job satisfaction when helping our customers, what appears to be basic and straightforward, we know, can in fact be challenging and demanding as well as mentally and physically exhausting!
Having spoken to several existing and new clients over the last month or so, I am developing the following courses based on their feedback and what they feel would be beneficial for bridal boutiques owners and their hard working staff right now.
Course one will be:
How to sell a wedding dress. No gimmicks, jargon, manipulation (steering) – of which I’ve never been a fan, or taught. Just simple, easy to learn sales tips and hints which work.
Course two will be:
A business MOT. (The equivalent of a US vehicle inspection). How healthy is your business? Are you on track for success? How can you make your business more profitable, and rewarding?
When I started my own business in 2003, I was the world’s first sales training expert in the industry. I am incredibly proud of reaching my 20th anniversary as the no. 1 trainer in Bridal Retail, and so thankful to my hundreds of customers who continue to support my business.
